Are you a victim of ADA violations and tired of waiting for the EEOC to settle your case and want community action? Take part in this blog inform us of who is refusing to hire people in wheelchair; why they are and what you'd like the community to do to support your cause.
This All came about because Sephora, the make-up company, refused to hire a 43 year old woman with a biology background who actually took on a retail job so she can work at Sephora. After two and a half years working in retail she thought having a biology background and studying in Europe ( Understanding Peptides, Understanding grape seed extracts, And the many things that help a women's face) She was ready to continue on to sell at Sephora.
After being denied, twice, she recieved a letter from Sephora ( which will later be posted at a later time). Sephora Informed her that even though there were 19 year old girls there they had more experience in what they were looking for. Haven't 19 year old girls just gotten out of High School? How much retail and beauty experience do they have opposed to a Fourty year old Women?
So we are asking that in the months of October, November and December people that are wheelchair ridden, friends or family of them or anyone concerned about the american laws and rights, people who are wheelchair or even users of other types of assistant living devices to boycott Sephora do not buy your products from Sephora. Many of Sephora's Products can be purchased from the manufactorers directly. Like Philosophy can be purchased by calling : 1-800-LOVE-151 and Ojon and others can be purchased from other websites. Lots of those Beauty people who care About disabled people can be purchased directly but avoid Sephora.
Boycott them during the times they expect to recieve the most money. And lets see how they feel about disabled people. We are more than just asking for asking for a job; we are the consumers.
Feel free to send in your own personal feelings on this Blog by sending it in through the Main site. And together we can make a diffrence about how people feel about people in wheelchairs and adaptable devices.
